Dave Turnquist is a candidate for Mayor of La Porte, Texas. He has been a teacher in La Porte since 1994, an adjunct professor at San Jacinto College, a real estate broker, and an active member of the community. Dave has been the voice of the La Porte Bulldogs for 16 seasons and was a coach for many years. Each year as a government, economics, and law instructor, he encourages his students at La Porte High School to attend and observe city council and school board meetings.

Dave has been involved in many community activities in La Porte including sponsoring the Sylvan Beach Festival and pageant contestants, serving as President of La Porte Main Street Association and Director of the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce, as well as sponsoring little league and high school teams, and helping build a Habitat for Humanity house in La Porte.
